John passed away September 5, 2019. He was 94.

John last played at Dana in the summer of 2016 when he was 91 years old (9th round pick). In a game in late 2015, he batted six times, starting with a double and then added 4 singles and a walk for a perfect 6 for 6 on base percentage.

John was inducted in the National Senior Softball Hall Of Fame in 2009. He is pictured here in 2017 when he threw out the first pitch at a Padres’s game.
